1st Driving Test Attempt: Failed.
FElt really terrible just now right after the test. In fact now i still do, but it's not tt bad already, after a good sleep to numb my senses. Made stupid mistakes which the centre's instructor already told me not to during my trial run. But to be honest, it was no fault of the tester. He was strict no doubt, but i had already known that i wasnt ready to handle a car yet. Even if i had passed and gotten a license, i wouldnt have had the guts to really start driving. Like what the tester said, i was bad at judging speed n distances; and this judgement is crucial for driving. Therefore, altthough upset, i'll still accept the verdict.
But there was a good thing i noticed during my ordeal---that i wasnt nervous...at least for most parts of the test. I did my circuit items well, im proud to say. Zero demerits for them:p
Mum n dad, were the most concerned abt me. Both called to make sure i was fine after i msged them. Mum even offered to drive me home, even when there wasnt a need to. I obliged, being happy to know tt she cared, even if i didnt want to.
Though i teared a 'lil, i didnt cry. (But bet i'll have a good one later on, soon:p)
Pre-Driving Test Tensions!!
Had an 8.35am final revision lesson today... I was still karang kaboh this morning but definitely much better than yesterday. The morning traffic gave me the jitters. LAne changing was better this morning despite tt, though. Hopefully things would turn out the best tmr since it's Sat. Everyone's been telling me that my 10.15 timeslot's really good...so i'd better do my best to pass tomorrow. ALamak...just thinking abt it just makes my stomach flip. Feel like pooping now. All the best to myself tomorrow! *looking forward to the shopping spree im gonna reward myself with if i pass!*
Insecurities, insecurities...
Had a really bad revision driving today. The only consolation was tt i was consistent...as in consistently bad:x Tio the same instructor for both days---the one who keeps giving me last min instructions. Just my luck! Made almost all the mistakes tt i knew was a big no-no, eg. Curbing, Not giving way to pedestrians ( hey c'mon...i was on the main road! how was i to know tt motorcyclist was not gonna give way?) And throughout the revision i was so nervous about lane-changing. It has always been my zhi ming shang. Bleah! Anyways...tomorrow will be better!
Was on my way home after tuition in Yishun...
Did a reflection on how my face looks...and to my horror, i think it's flat n long! With lotsa polka dots, no less. Reminds me of a rolled-out piece of dough with lotsa air-holes. Dammit. Im positively repulsive.
Hurried home to celebrate Leong's bday. He's 18 from today. Recorded the bday scene on my hp in video format. Played back the video n immediately i deleted it. Horror of horrors! I heard myself in the background singing the bday song and my voice sounded really in-your-face and VERY shallow!! I found it really irritating, to be brutally frank to myself. Cue to stop singing in public and TALK LESS!!!
CAMP LOWDOWN~!
Day1 -- Mon 11/7
Was pretty late meeting Fel in the morning coz i was suay enough to miss both my bus and train. My bag was super super huge and bulged out, and i was tired from slping late the night before. Fel's friend wanling was coming with us...and we found out the both of us in the same grp! Poor fel, haha...
Day started with games at NUS itself. My ogls r really a bunch of damned funny ppl manx, really animated. They can do those silly cheers with tt kinda confidence n the sporting rahrah spirit. Im awed and impressed by them, honestly! (Huifen, Noel, Jorin im talking 'bt ya.haha...) My grp's made up of 3 guys n 8 girls, which is honestly a disappointment coz i was expecting a hunk-feast for my eyes. *winkz* Bah...but like they say, u dont get ur cake n eat it too. WEnt trekking at Bukit Timah...n played more games (obscene ones too, including one which has some reference to e female anatomy-_-) By dinner i was really zonked out n missing home aldy. Finally understood why army for e guys can be such a bad thing in the beginning. Then the secret pal thing. Kaoz...very paiseh la. I dont usually make friends blindfolded u know. I prefer to see their faces, haha! By my SP's a nice guy la. Too bad he's attached:p lolxx! Night-cycling was next on the programme list. Cycled from ECP to Lau Pa Sat for supper...suffering many knocks along the way. Super lao kui... 'nuff said. Turned in at 430am.
Day 2 -- Tues, 12/7
Woke up at 630am. Thanks to stoopid jac who had to wake me up on time when ogl jorin isnt even stirring yet. haha...but jac was right to do tt, i know:p Gosh...wasnt prepared for all the horrible, horrible aches tt came with waking up! It was so bad, tt for the 1st time in my life i had PALM ACHE. No joke...jac n yixuan were tickled silly by my whining so early in e morning. Aftr breakfast of 1 piece of bread we headed to Sentosa for some Amazing race-like game which required us to run all over the place, AGAIN. It was pouring hard, so we were practically soaked to the skin. So afraid i'd catch a cold and get pneumonia coz of it. One thing i'll nv forget is how i had to act all pitiful in front of this ang-moh couple just to get them to patronise the snack bar so we can complete our task. They had rejected me at 1st, but was super interested when i told them what we were doing. And many thanks to Saf who came over to help me out.(Thanks bud!) By noon, i was really hungry and suffering from heat exhaustion le. Skipped the beach games to rest. (read: sleep) But frankly speaking i was pretty touched by the councillors there. They were really concerned abt our welfare n it's like while i was slacking off, they came back constantly just to check tt i was ok. I rmb tearing abit at one point coz i knew i was not really at tt gg-to-faint state. Just very sleepy.
Later it rained, AGAIn. HAHA! My entire OG just threw caution to e wind n ran out of shelter to take the tram in the rain. Damned funny when u turn back to see the bewildered, 'Huh-what's-happening?' faces of the other grps left behind looking at u.
WE had BBQ dinner later on before we had the SP games again. I switched to 'fake' mode again. Cldn't help it.
Day 3 -- 13/7
Ubin today. Was frantically applying the whole tube of army repellent tt Jac lovingly got for me. (harhar!) Then over there it was trekking all over again...all over the island. Holy cow...it was damned tiring! It was smthg like the CLuedo game except this time u havta go arnd the island to look for clues this time. Bleah... But it was fun. There was this councillor who acted as a bian tai doctor and he did it really well! Wow...i think he was damned natural though:p Later on we had campfire night...where we had to act out what we thought happened. Some of e skits were really cartoon spirits were high. But what i loved most was the mass singing after the campfire, where some grps combined to sing songs. FElt so good, boy! Guess it's my singer's itch coming back.
Nightwalk was next...and to be honest i was actually very scared. Kept holding my Guan Yin pendant n keeping her image in mind to calm me down. It wasnt drastic, esp when james, jac n alif had to tell ghost stories b4 all of us were split up into smaller grps-_- I went with jac n yixuan coz there wasnt enough guys in my grp to go arnd. And partly also coz i knew i wld cling on for life to my partner...and it obviously wld be very awkward if it were a guy i was clinging on to. After it was finally over then our secret pals were revealed. haha! He looked quite like the Ah beng name he was given la! Chatted for quite awhile before his grp decided to come over n ji siao the 2 of us. I mean...Ah lian n ah beng arent exactly e coolest names u'll find on planet Earth. Check it out man. But ok la...thank goodness he's cool abt it.
Jio-ed the ogls to ton together wif me. Only alif, yi kai n james didnt join in. HAhaha! The whole lot of us played indian poker in e girls tent. The ogls were damned farny la...i was super siao too. lolx! Tio this dumb forfeit...haha! Stuff a potato chip into james' mouth n bite it off. I managed to do it at one go but Noel missed his photo shot. But nay...i didnt give him a 2nd chance. Started getting paiseh aldy n thank gdness they cld feel it. Haha...they kept disturbing wanling oso. She was so sound aslp she didnt even feel the chip inside her mouth! Hilarious i tell u... Throughout the game certain opinions abt other members were revealed. hehheh...i knew i wasnt e only one who had gripes abt...???:p
Oh! And i forgot to mention my grp was perpetually LATE for everything, and kept screwing up the timetable of e entire camp. Talk abt being dua pai:p Heck, we even made it our group identity! Super thick-skinned, my group. Heehee... I absolutely love Viperon!
I had a really really ominous nightmare about me crashing my car so badly, the car boot was all smashed in. Not really an exciting thing to be written abt on my blog...except for the fact that this is 2 weeks before my driving test on the 23rd of this month. Bad omen lor... I remember the time when i day-dreamed abt Mrs Lim shaking her head at me on my A lvls results day and it blardie hell came true. What's up manz? I hope it's just that im overly-anxious about it:p
A day in slacker Ho's life. Heehee...sometimes i dont know how i should feel being able to slack whole...well, Almost a whole day. (i've got to give tuition still.) Like today, it's so lazy that i get so guilty about it. Woke up at a very late 11am, had breakfast and got down to work on my bursary applic letter and downloaded 'Wonderwall' from Oasis. In the afternoon I helped one of my ma's problematic kids with his work. After that i had lunch, then started on my Little Mermaid jigsaw puzzle. Ooh i love that character manx! Got dizzy after a while so went for a nap. Woke up at 6 to mark my sis' assessment bks, then washed up n had dinner before heading to my uncle's place 2 blocks away to give my cousin tuition. Came back, downloaded BEP songs, and finally completed my entire bursary application. I just finished writing my blog entry for today and am gg off to bed. A day is gone. But i've decided to wake up early to bake cookies! Yeaaahh!!!
