An example of a couply thing to do when you've been married for 25 years: Labels: Mum and Dad
Borrow a ear pick from your spouse to clean your ears while watching tv together. Oh, and as a safety measure, do ask your spouse to stay away from you in case he/she bumps into your ear-digging arm and your ear drum kenna.
There have been quite a few occasions when i've experienced the sensation of deja vu, but the most recent one has been the weirdest - i was reading Pride and Prejudice for the very first time on my iPhone when I started finding certain phrases very familiar. Then it hit me that i actually dreamt of reading an e-book on my iPhone even before either was invented! I remembered seeing the same words in the same background, same font colour and even the font size. The passage in question was:
"In her kind schemes for Elizabeth, she sometimes planned her marrying Colonel Fitzwilliam. He was beyond comparison the most pleasant man; he certainly admired her, and his situation in life was most eligible; but to counterbalance these advantages, Mr Darcy had considerable patronage in the church, and his cousin could have none at all."
Highlighted in red were the words that jolted my memory of having seen the text, even though i have never read the book itself before this. How creepy is that, huh? Makes me wonder if dreams really do come true. And if that is the case, I sure hope the bad ones don't.=D
Monologue:
"So I was sitting in a bar, when a guy came up to me and said, "My life stinks."
I looked at his gold credit card, I saw the way he was looking at people across the room,
and I looked at his face - why, I couldn't look at his face - and I said,
"Dude, your perspective on life sucks."
He's got looks that books take pages to tell
He's got a face to make you fall on your knees
He's got money in the bank to thank and I guess
You could think he's livin' at ease
Like lovers of the open shore -- What's the matter?
When you're sitting there with so much more --What's the matter?
When you're wondering what the hell to do
Are you wishing you were ugly like me?
Blame it on the girls who know what to do
Blame it on the boys who keep hitting on you
Blame it on your mother for the things she said
Blame it on your father but you know he's dead
Blame it on the girls
Blame it on the boys
Blame it on the girls
Blame it on the boys
Life could be simple but you never fail
To complicate it every single time
You could have children and a wife, a perfect little life
But you blow it on a bottle of wine
Like a baby you're a stubborn child -- what's the matter
Always looking for an axe to grind -- what's the matter
While you're wondering what the hell to do
We were wishing we were lucky like you
Blame it on the girls who know what to do
Blame it on the boys who keep hitting on you
Blame it on your mother for the things she said
Blame it on your father but you know he's dead
Blame it on the girls
Blame it on the boys
Blame it on the girls
Blame it on the boys
Life could be simple but you never fail
To complicate it every single time
You could have children and a wife, a perfect little life
But you blow it on a bottle of wine
Blame it on the girls
Blame it on the boys
Blame it on the girls
Blame it on the boys
...and by God's grace, escaped from my folks with just black faces. No one scolded or screamed at me this time. Even Dad, who yelled at me the other time i brought the matter up, seems ready to accept my decision to move into hall. Would probably bring them to my room this weekend for a visit so that my living in hall would no longer sound like some abstract concept to them.
Can't wait!:)
