Something i found off youtube... Mr Brown and co. has done it again, this time using a parody of the song "Nobody" by Korean girlgroup Wondergirls for their take on the H1N1 pandemic. Hilarious! PS: I cldn't help but be reminded of Z and the gold dress she wore for Boogie. (somebody's got to agree with me on that!) And the guy...... vaguely resembles somebody i know. HAHA
...And then i found the original video, which is rather apt when you consider that little bit of slapstick humour they threw into the MV. LOL.
Just found out from my mum that one of the aunties working for my mum at the student centre had a stroke and is now paralysed on the right side... Lots of thoughts running through my head now, i don't really know what to think.
I was standing in for my mum at the centre this morning, and sensed that something was wrong when she hadnt come in for work at the time she was expected to. But instead of trusting my instincts and calling my mum to ask, i chose to assume that she was sick and had probably informed my mum abt it. My mum only found out that that auntie hadnt turned up when i saw her at lunchtime, by which time it had alr been hours since that poor lady fell. Her son was in the next room but he was aslp and didnt realise a thing until my mum called that auntie's hp the third time.
Mum said i shld've informed her earlier... that it might not have been that bad if i had told her earlier... which is absolutely true, but is making me feel even more guilty than i alr am. I only hope that assigning blame on me and my dad would make her breathe a little easier... cus i know she's feeling really horrid now too.
... Am really worried for that auntie, cus she's a family friend afterall. And considering that she was walking and talking perfectly well during our weekend trip to Genting, it is even more disturbing to now know that this same lady can no longer walk or talk properly due to her physical impairment. She must be feeling so terrified and helpless right now...
Now that this has happened, it makes me ever more worried for my own parents, who are getting on in age. It really isnt paranoia on my part, considering that i have a mum who's f-ing stubborn, overworks herself and neglects her own health; and a dad who frequently tends to get angry at my mum for not taking better care of her health, for having such a shitty lifestyle and at me and my sis for not helping him nag at my mum to come home earlier (she doesnt come home till midnight on most days) - my dad thinks i dont care abt my own mother cus i gave up on nagging at her. Throw in a grandmother who's usually alone at home in the daytime...even more worrying. I made plans to visit her a couple times per wk before my training begins, but now that my mum is shorthanded, im feeling more than a little torn as to where my priorities shld lie.
I only pray for all of them, and all of you reading this to stay safe and healthy... cus there's really nothing i want more.
To my dear friends who care, i have a confession to make. Despite the happy and crazy demeanour i've been displaying lately, the past two weeks were in fact the most agonizing thus far this year.
Why?
Remember Mr W and Mr M and my dilemma of who to choose? With a very heavy, anxiety-ridden heart, I made my decision, and regretfully and painfully turned down Mr W. Because between passion and self-growth, passion won.
As a result of which, while i was having fun attending parties and holidaying in the past few weeks after the interview with Mr M, the thought of being rejected - and the consequence of being jobless hence - lingered at the back of my head ALL OF THE TIME. I was worried, and checked my mail every day without fail... only to be disappointed time after time.
Tomorrow would've been the 15th day since my interview on the 14th this month, and i was on the verge of giving up hope when i came back home, checked my mail and didnt find what i was hoping to.
So imagine my elation when the younger sis came into the room with my phone - i left it in the living room - and found two linked msgs in my inbox. I was half expecting it to be a msg fr my eye candy, LOL, but then it read:
"...We're pleased to make you a provisional offer of a teaching position..."
And that marked the end of my very agonising two-week wait. Mr M hadn't disappointed me afterall=)
PS: I MISS THE BLACK EYED PEAS!!
HAHA the underdog won! And the best thing is, nobody loses cus Adam will get record deals anyway!
I couldn't help but search for other adam lambert performances - since he had musical background - and I found evidence to show that he can win AI8 without having to scream.
Tell me he doesnt sound amazing enough here man.
Watching Adam and Kris perform their finale pieces, im torn. Not because both did equally well, but because they were...equally predictable , no offense to fans of either singers. Kris was especially bland tonight (why didnt he sing Heartless instead??).
Though i really think that Kris is more personable than Adam, Adam comes across as a more captivating singer and i realise it's because he keeps screaming in the middle of his songs, which gives that extra kek-sai 'uuummmppphh!' feeling that Danny and Kris cannot deliver. If i had heard him on the radio, i'd definitely change the station cus its called senseless screaming, not singing. However, because it's a live performance, and the winner is decided by audience's votes, i'd say Adam will win this season, not only cus he has strong stage presence, but also because live and tv audiences, by and large, are such suckers for singers who can scream. Just compare live performances by diana krall and linkin park and you'd get what i mean.
But then again, it isnt as clear cut afterall if you think about each singer's marketability. I mean, seriously. Would you rather spend $20 to hear Adam scream through all 12 songs in the album, or to Kris who's the proverbial but versatile balladeer? I like the fact that the latter occasionally outdoes himself like the way he did Heartless. His rendition of the song, originally by Kanye West, was the most brilliant out of the three versions i've heard so far - including the 'Gay Fish' parody on South Park which was a dig at Kanye's self-delusional conceitedness - that i found really funny btw. (FYI, Kanye took the criticism very well, which he has my total respect for; and due to which, i consider him a true gentleman.)
So it's a good fight i guess. Personally, i'd put my money on Adam, but im secretly rooting for Kris to win. The underdog rules!!!
At long last, i finally managed to upload my Msia trip pics on fb. It took me a whole freaking Sunday to complete that!
Thought i cld write a little abt the trip here... was supposed to have been in Vietnam those few days, but i decided not to go, cus i didnt think it was right to make my folks worry abt me that much. It wasn't as if they'd be less worried abt me going to KL, but the fact that i was staying with a friend made it more possible, i guess.
There was a lot of eating involved - i mean, i was travelling with Wailun, what else to expect right? LOL. Then there was also the shopping...which i really shld've done less of so i cld eat more=D
But in order to find all the great places to eat at also meant we had to be on the road for quite abit of time...to the pt i actually felt bad having Wailun drive us all over the place to eat.
In fact, we went to so many places, that eventually at the end of the 2nd day the tank went empty on our way back to the apartment 0_O. What was worse was that it was past midnight, so most of the petrol stations were actually CLOSED cus they dont operate 24/7 like ours do. Wailun joked that we might have to walk 5km back, which wld usually have been really funny, but cus the chances of us having to do that was extremely high even from an optimist's p.o.v., i think, secretly he was freaking out too=P Thankfully we found one in the end, and coupled with the help of a fellow driver, we managed to happily get home on four wheels.
So, to those of u who think that the world is such a dark, depressed place with people trying to do you in everywhere, all over the place, i hope this wld be evidence that there is still kindness in the world... That if u even tried to look carefully, it exists.
In any case, from what i heard, Wailun's hoping to materialize his 'dream' of hvg a reso field trip to KL, so if u guys like what you see in my pics on fb, do consider! Coming from someone who initially wanted to have my grad trip in Europe, im saying i wasnt disappointed that i had mine in KL, cus afterall it's the company that matters!=)
If you haven't caught any of the episodes of this season's Grey's Anatomy, here's the summary and the finale. Get your kleenax ready though...and happy watching the whole episode! Tudou offers a more coherent viewing btw:)
PS: i still prefer Burke's wedding vows!
80% done, 20% left...
It feels like downloading something illegal - 80% done, and u cant wait for the remaining 20% to finish loading so u can quickly delete the torrent, so that you dont get caught. and fined.
Everyone in my classroom is studying...there are four of us.
More than 80% of the school is empty, leaving less than 20% of us to mug in a lonely school. Even the number of dustbins in school outnumber us, can.
80% of my brain has turned into mash, only 20% left. But considering that i use 19.999999999% to think of what to eat and drink for dinner, what to do after my paper, how to disturb my other equally-sian classmates etc... Maybe i'll still have a microscopic percentage left to lure Minuchin, Virginia Satir, Watson, Pavlov and Beck into my head.
heh, im just babbling. Back to my books.
And Jit and Yh, stop peeping at my blogpost.
