i took a leap of faith, and went for the photoshoot today. 12 casual shots, 12 bridal shots in all. fortunately, the ordeal didnt seem as dark n scary i thot it would be. Paranoid me was pretty afraid they might bluff me into taking bikini shots or whatever. Im still rather conservative la.

So, it was one entire hour of make-up and hairstyling by this very nice lady Cally, before i took my casual shots. Man, was i real bad at posing. Firstly, i was nervous - so much so that it showed in my expressions and i had to retake a few shots; secondly, i was downright STIFF. Omg...the photographer, Shirley, literally had to tell me step by step how to pose. At one point, i could have sworn that she nearly blew up. Exasperation was written all over her face. haha. But what to do? No experience mah~~ *um chio*

But that was ordinary la. What i was really excited about was the bridal shots. I really loved the hair that Cally did for me coz i thought it really suited my face shape, makeup n everything else. But more importantly, it was the first experience of wearing a real wedding gown and taking pictures of me in it that was breathtaking. And it was so so much easier to take the photos (it ended alot sooner than the casual shot) coz i didnt have to suck in all the time. It's tough being a woman, man:p

And after the shoot, im more determined to get married someday, not too far off into the future:D i want to do that again, and i want to do it clinging to my man. haha. Can't wait for the photos to come out next week!

the concert yesterday was a blast! at least for me la. haha... Coz throughout the practices i had alot of fun with my grp mates, esp with prock ppl whom i swear are the crappiest but the most lovable n funniest bunch of ppl i've ever known. What with the 'push' (read: 'hush' with the 'h' replaced by 'p') and the extendable mic impersonation by zhengyu, moli's theory, derek's murtabak and tur kwa impersonation and all other nonsense. And as usual, i made stupid mistakes like turning the wrong direction and doing my actions one beat slower than the rest, so the guffaws are no surprise anymore la. haha. i thought prock's choreo was the best run last night out of all our usual flop-py practices! (yoyoyo~!) and of course, im impressed by all the other groups' numbers too. Voco's ABBA is highly entertaining, and im starting to idolise them already. haha

But above all the fun n everything, im even happier that the concert has brought all of us so so so much closer than in the beginning, and i've gotten myself more frens who thoroughly enjoy making fun of me. Which i dont mind coz they just make me laugh all the time.haha.. Really glad i didnt give in to my initial instincts to quit after first sem:)

sometimes i question my belief in fate, and if everything that happens to us are really already destined to happen. The optimists will have you know that your lives are controlled by you yourself, but couldn't it be possible that the decisions we finally make have already been predicted and all of us are merely following what has been 'programmed'?

And i've got this absurd, but slightly plausible idea that deja vu could be a proof that our lives are indeed controlled by destiny. if not, den how does one explain the phenomenon of deja vu? i can never really understand why ever so often do i dream of certain scenes and then see them in real life later on, and i even know exactly what i would be doing or saying in response. it's creepy, if u ask me.

I had it just 2 days ago when i was working at the warehouse. I saw exactly the scene that i dreamt of eons ago, and i said exactly the stuff i said in my dream. It was particularly outstanding coz i rmbered telling my mum the next day. mere coincidence? i doubt so. i mean, how the hell would i have known that i would be working in a warehouse??

But this ain't my main concern. Rather, im more worried than anything else that the bad dreams that i've dreamt of would come true. Like the horrific one where i crashed the red car i was driving, so badly that the entire boot was scrunched up like a crushed tin can. And come to think of it, i didnt really get those very nice ones where i got rich, scored upper class honours in my final yr or hooked up with a loving man or smthg. Damned.

i hope my dreams don't come true. or at least the bad ones don't.

I've been shocking everyone i come into contact with, literally. I don't know what's up with me, but mysterious static charges from my left arm's been attacking everybody i went out with in the past 3 days. First it was becky my german lang classmate on fri, then it was huishan on fri n sat. And my sister kenna-ed just now when we were at the supermarket. As a result, I am now officially un-contactable! haha...pun intended. It's all about the wordplay!

And yes, food cravings. Im craving for everything and anything edible these days. From KFC, orh lua, the carrot cake fr toa payoh lor.1, the wanton mee at AMoy Street to kueh zaap from bishan kim seng. Btw, the orh lua i shared with xiaowei n huishan at bukit timah market yday was super good. I reckon I'll be asking friends out to pig out with me in the next few days, so watch out. hhaa.

Salivate, and drown in my drool.

i've been really happy in the past 4 days, and that's coz ive been working, ironically. It's a merchandiser job with Kimberly Clark after a job-drought of 1 month and 5 days. For those not in the know, the MNC deals with all the toilet-related products like ur tissues, toilet paper, toilet paper holders, as well as your Kotex pads among many others. Heh, i never realise how deeply intertwined my life is with the company until i took on the job!

Anyways, my job scope was unbelievably simple, despite the very professional-sounding job name. All i had to do was to run to the specified Watsons' and Guardian stores in S'pore to paste promotion stickers on the new pantyliner packagings. I was pretty amazed actually, considering that i used to think the stickers were pasted on by machines. haha...so, my friends, if u do happen to notice the 'Win up to $5000 cash!' stickers on ur Kotex pantyliners, chances r i pasted them:)

Friendships. They're just like plants.

First, you start by getting to know that the person, which is akin to planting the seed into the ground.
Then, after u've decided to, you put in time and effort to hang out more n know more about your new friend, hoping to at least get smthg gg on. Very similar to monitoring your seed's growth and trying to give it the best; giving it water and bringing it into the house when the Sun's too strong.
You start to see the shoots protruding out of the ground, and u're encouraged. And so you continue to fuss over it to make sure it continues to grow as well. The day u see the flowers bloom, and those that follow right after, are the happiest and the most enjoyable days of your life.

Sure, anyone would probably have read similar stuffs like this a gazillion times already. But here's the catch. None, or few of them actually go on to say what happens after the flowers bloom. It cant possibly grow forever, can it? And likewise, ppl gradually realise that the friendships they've built aren't going anywhere after a certain period of time.
So where do we go from here? Using the analogy of the plant, here's 2 choices. One, you continue to take good care of it, even though you already get a strong gut feeling that the plant might, and in fact definitely, still gonna eventually die. Two, you give in to your very strong gut feeling, and leave it to the elements to decide; whether or not for it to die. And i've seen people take the latter choice all too often.

Frankly speaking, i myself have lost some of my best friends over the years, and i really regret letting it happen. Even as im talking about friendships here, i have the feeling that there are already some other friends of mine whom i treasure that im on the verge of losing. Im trying to do more to keep them, but it takes two to keep it going. So pray let me be worthy enough for them to keep me with them too.

Shoe hunting today and yes, i skipped my way home with a lovely prize. (fully paid by yours truly, no doubt.) It's a pair of red Keds slip-ons which are really comfy. Spent quite abit on them, but it's money well-spent nonetheless:D

And thankfully, i finally found myself jobs; and with them, my my current account deficits will be nicely balanced up, of coz. It's back to tutoring once again, except this time im teaching Chinese and Taiwanese kids. Decided to take them on in the hope that they'll stay for long, so that my mum's student-care business can expand. AND the cash would keep rolling in, more importantly.

The rich man's world is always sunny. And i love sunny days.

The World Cup's the only other time that my neighbourhood would be alive and happening at 2am in the morning - apart from the elections. And im happy because i can happily skip down to the 7-Eleven downstairs without having to worry that the banglas would kidnap me and pack me off to their homeland for sale:D

Visits to my granny's place in ang mo kio are always happy n interesting, as was yesterday's. And this time i made, with her, egg tarts and red bean dessert - the type which u get at restaurants without the red bean shells:D Hee...i MUST say im really blessed to get to have a grandmum who's a really talented good cook! Oh, and she really loves me lots...so much that she packed in a jar of preserved ginger slices (which btw tastes really gd), a bottle of lotus seeds to go with the red bean dessert, some ba zhang, on top of the red bean paste n egg tarts for me to bring home. BEST ah!!!

Haa...I really must make an effort to visit her more often already:p

Sentosa was pretty ok yday. No hunk fest, but i got to spend some time with my jc gang, so there's some consolation in that. Was a lil pissed abt not being able to much there though. Really was looking forward to things like kayaking, taking the luge ride and all other stuffs, coz it's been difficult for me to get out of the house these days! Felt like i wasted a trip or smthg. Not guo ying enough, really. Well anw, i'll just be contented with what i have.
After that, we headed to jiahui's place for dinner, talked cock abit before i left for home...just to see another black face. See la...it really doesnt pay to compromise just to make everybody happy. It really doesnt. And i really gotta make an effort to get home before time in future to earn back my trustworthiness.

On a side note, i hope and i wish and i pray that my future boyfriend will be one who loves me enough to keep me safe, and will be really level-headed person who acts with sensibility instead of doing things just to suit the crowd. I dont care if he's a broke bloke, neither do i give a damn about pretty faces. I ain't just another superficial shit.
