Just came back from vivo, met becksie n ah kor for dinner since i cldnt go Sentosa with em in the afternn. Quite timely, coz i needed time out from all the saikang stuffs - checking for hourly reso email updates, practising both reso n alumni scores, settling of timetables n practice schedules, yada yada... *groans at the thought*

Feels slightly better now though.


Watched Priceless (Hors de Prix) with xw yest. It's a french show about a beautiful woman who seeks old, wrinkled n filthy-rich old men (sounds familiar eh?) for a tai-tai life, but ends up loving the poor penniless toyboy of a bartender. Quite a farnie show, should watch.

"It's a bloody safe!!" - Jean, the penniless bartender referring to the diamond+rubies+other precious stone-encrusted watch his sugar mama bought him.

I cant believe i managed to sit through an entire 8 hours of 爱情合约 （Love Contract) straight. I came out of it with two swollen, puffy eyes.

Obviously, the show didnt have a happy ending. In fact, i sobbed, and sobbed and sobbed all the way till the end, esp for the last 5 episodes where bad things were happening all over the place. Worse, when both the characters died in the end, i cried until got sound somemore.

The series was really really dark, unlike the usual fluffy ones whereby the characters lived happily ever after. I really didnt see the tragic ending coming, but I dont dislike the show for it. I understood why it received much lower viewership than all the other shows. Coz tv junkies have been weened on happy endings, which were made, precisely to give them what they want. The plot was unbelievably unrealistic, its true, but they had gd actors - mike he n ariel lin acted verrrrry well - which more than made up for it. Plus, the lack of bkground music during the emo parts did a surprisingly gd job in portraying the moods.

Made me wonder if the friends i make wld actually go through so much for me, like those in the show did. More imptly, it made me think abt whether i myself am willing to do so much for others. Other shows glorified the concept of love, but this one chose to slap u back into reality.

What can i say? I dont like the ending (it got me sobbing at a computer screen at 3am in the morning), but i cld see where the storywriter (playwright??) was coming from. And if anyone cld put himself into the shoes of the characters, he too wld have understood that the show cld not have had any other ending.

i'd say the drama series is fantastic for the emo. it was a really gd show, i thought. Dont watch it if u're under depression tho.

The gowns were pretty ordinary, i thought, but there were a couple of saving graces out of the collection i guess. Belle's and Cindy's were alright.

sometimes it gets frustrating when u eagerly want to apply for fantastic jobs eg. a 10-per-hr data entry/admin assistant for which u possess all the criteria they're asking for, but u cant coz u simply have to put the family business first.

Hmm...It was disappointing for me coz im all ready to submit my nicely-put-tgr resume online, only to realise a split second later that it clashes with my priorities, and i end up clicking the 'cancel' button n pretend i never saw the job offer. In short, it's family's survival vs. personal interest n survival. Im selfish at times, but i just wasnt brought up to be selfish enough, what can i do?

At this point of time, perhaps nobody would be able to understand the frustration n dilemma that i've to go through, all the time, when i see such opportunities knock on my door. *sighz*

But as i've said, at anytime when im unhappy, there'd be somebody/something happy to cheer me up:

Ooh. and a piece of advice for my peeps before i go.

That is, be verrrry patient when u go past the mrt gantry, even if u're late n rushing for time. Coz just this afternn, i narrowly escaped from being kiap-ed by the gates TWICE, simply becoz i waited. (okay no, more coz i was stoning at that point of time)
What happened was this woman tried to enter the same exit as i exited. I tapped my card first, but she proceeded to rush thru it before i did. Think the sensors at the gates sensed the discrepancy so they closed to stop her from passing through. And she kenna-ed a second time coz she tried to go thru it again.

See what happens to u when u're impatient?

And what was i doing when i shld hv entered? I merely stood there...and watched. Coz i had taken a nap on the train earlier on (where i fell aslp on a stranger's shoulder, omg good gracious me) and i was still very sleepy at the point of getting out. So i decided to stay out of her way first, n watched the drama unfold.

maybe that's why they say, sha gua you sha fu.
